Injection Blow

The plastic resin is fed into a heated barrel and screw and then injected under high pressure into a water-cooled mold, consisting of various moving parts.

Due to the higher injection pressure, the mold will be fixed together by using a clamping device. When the plastic remains inside the mold, the plastic will freeze into the shape of the mold.

After the plastic has cooled sufficiently, the mold and clamping unit will open and allow the completed assembly to be ejected from the mold so that the process can be repeated.

Injection Stretch-Blow Molding

Injection Stretch Blow Moulding is the process of manufacturing high quality and very high clarity bottles.

The plastic is melted and then injected into a mold to form a preform. The preform is then reheated before being held inside two halves of a mold.

When the preform is in the mold, it is inflated using high pressured air while simultaneously being stretched.

While the plastic is inside the mold, the plastic will freeze off to the mold shape as it is forced against the inside of the mold.

The mold halves will then open, releasing the bottle so that the process can be repeated.

PET – Polyethylene Terephthalate

PC – Polycarbonate

The most commonly used material is PET – Polyethylene Terephthalate – and is used to compete with bottles made of glass. Bottles blown using PET can give the following advantages:

  • Good barrier characteristics against carbon dioxide and oxygen.
  • Excellent clarity, nearing that of glass.
  • High breakage resistance to avoid risk and injury.
  • Dimensionally very accurate bottles
  • Thermally stable, suitable for hot filling
  • Suitable for recycling
  • PCR (post-consumer recycled) material is now also becoming more common as it utilizes recycled PET offering a more environmentally friendly alternative


The advantage of the method is the injection molding production speed; a high-efficiency operation can be automated.

Tightness test

Test principle: By evacuating the vacuum chamber, the sample immersed in the water generates a pressure difference between the inside and the outside, observing whether the gas in the sample escapes and the damage of the sample, so as to determine the sealing performance and breaking strength of the sample.
